The five circles symbolize the five pillars of Islam, including "zakat" (gladly using a portion of one's wealth for charitable purposes) and "salat" (ritual prayer five times per day).

The eight line segments symbolize the noble eightfold path of Buddhism (right view, right intention, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, right concentration).

The cross represents the life, the death, the resurrection, the words, the deeds, the teachings and the example of Jesus of Nazareth.

The large center circle symbolizes the divinity of Yahweh in Judaism, Jehovah in Christianity and Allah in Islam...this omniscient and omnipotent being links the world's three great Abrahamic religions.

The four connections to the center circle symbolize the Hindu belief that there are four paths to Brahman:  bhakata (love), karma (work), raja (meditation) and jnana (knowledge).

The highlighted symbol is the Greek letter phi [Φ] which describes the Golden Ratio or Divine Proportion, found throughout nature, music, art, architecture, etc.  It represents all the beauty and inherent goodness found in the world.  The length of the vertical section and horizontal section of the cross are in the ratio of Φ = 1.618 as are the diameter of the large center circle and the smaller peripheral circles.
